Songtradr Is Now MassiveMusic: What It Means for Licensing

Songtradr, the platform we have used for business licensing since our catalog first went up, has a new name. The company brought its business-facing brands together under MassiveMusic, and the original Songtradr Marketplace is winding down. The company behind it is the same, and so is our catalog.

What actually changed

Songtradr the company still exists. What changed is the storefront: business licensing, meaning sync for video and ads plus in-store music for venues, now runs through MassiveMusic instead of songtradr.com.

Everything that made licensing our music simple carries over. We still own both the masters and the publishing on every track, there are no samples to clear, and hotel groups and brands including Marriott and L'Oréal already license the catalog this way.

If you are a business

Nothing about the process changes except the address. Search BeatsBackground on MassiveMusic, describe your use (locations, territory, term, or the campaign you are scoring) and they quote and clear it. We keep sector guides for hotels, retail, cafés and restaurants and brand and social video, or start with the licensing overview.

If you hold an existing license issued through Songtradr, it stays valid as written. Renewals and new quotes simply go through MassiveMusic.

If you are a streamer

Nothing changes for you at all. This is a business licensing change only. Our music stays free to play on Twitch and YouTube, live and in VODs, and we never file copyright claims against streamers. Play us from Spotify or the other stores, or through Pretzel, which is still the safest setup.
