Brand video & ads

Music for brand video that sits under the voiceover.

Instrumental beds with clear four- and eight-bar phrases, written and recorded by two brothers. Sync licensed for product film, social campaigns and ads through Songtradr.

The short answer

What does a sync license for a brand video need to cover?

A sync license is permission to pair a piece of music with picture. A good one names the specific video or campaign, the platforms it will run on (social, web, TV, cinema, in-app), the territory and the term, and whether it can be monetized or used for client work.

Songtradr writes exactly that license for our music. Because we own both the recording and the composition, there is one rightsholder to approve it, which is why clearance takes days instead of the weeks a sampled or co-written track can take.

Trusted by

Licensed by Marriott and L'Oréal.

Two brothers wrote, played and recorded the whole catalog. One rightsholder on the masters and the publishing, no samples, so Songtradr can quote and clear it fast.

Why our lofi works under picture

  • Clear four- and eight-bar phrases, so an editor can cut on the bar and loop cleanly.
  • No vocals and a controlled top end. Voiceover sits on top without ducking tricks.
  • One consistent mix level across 58 releases, so a series of videos can share a sound.
  • No samples and no co-writers. Nothing in the track can surface a claim after the campaign is live.

How licensing works

Step 1

Find the track

Search BeatsBackground on Songtradr and audition against your rough cut. Delicate Hues, Sunset on Jackson Ave and Open Waters are frequent picks for product film.

Step 2

Scope the sync license

Tell Songtradr the media, platforms, territory and term. Agencies can license on behalf of a client; say so in the request.

Step 3

Cut and ship

Once the license is issued you are clear across the platforms it names. Keep the license with the project file.

Hear it first

Audition the catalog before you open a quote.

“Strictly Lofi” runs seven hours and “Beats for Streaming” ten. Put one on in the room you are scoring and see how it sits.

The usual questions

We are an agency. Can we license for a client?

Yes. Name the client and the campaign in the Songtradr request and the license is written for that use.

Is social different from TV?

Yes. Media and platforms are part of the license scope, and the quote changes with them. Ask for everything the video will run on, including paid social, so nothing has to be re-licensed later.

Perpetual or fixed term?

Both are available. Songtradr quotes the term you ask for. A perpetual license costs more up front and saves the renewal.

Can we get stems or a shorter edit?

Ask through Songtradr when you request the quote and we will see what we can do for the track in question.

Who owns the rights?

We do. Two brothers wrote, played, recorded and mastered every track. Masters and publishing under one owner, no samples, so a sync clears fast.
